Thirty-eight race teams checked in for a night of racing on a Thursday Night in Dodge City. Mid-week racing is pretty much unheard of in Western Kansas, but Dodge City Raceway Park put on a really nice night of racing action! Winners from tonight included Tathan Burkhart in the stock cars and Zach Olmsted in the hobby stocks!

Duane Wharman and Dion Priddy started the hobby stock feature from the front row, Wharman led almost to the line but lost his right rear tire and wheel leading to a multi car incident, that involved Trent Matson rolling his car, all drivers were okay, and the field restarted. The field restarted with a new front row of Dion Priddy and Brady Bencken, Bencken led for a bit, but Cody Williams quickly was side by side with Bencken, Caution for debris would come out and the field would try to start the race for a third time. Third time was the charm as Bencken led the first lap, Cody Williams grabbed the lead for the second lap, meanwhile Zach Olmstead was charging to the front. Williams led the first seven laps, but on lap eight gave way to Olmstead who would lead until lap eleven when Manuel Salazar and Brook Russell tangled in turn four to bring out a caution. Olmstead led off the restart, but cautio quickly came out as Trevor Schmidt spun and got stuck in turn two. Olmstead would bring the field to a single file restart and lead the remainder of the feature to win his tenth race of the 2023 season! Second at the line barely, was Brady Bencken, third was Cody Williams, fourth was Dion Priddy and fifth was Shay Simoneau. Hard charger in the event was Hayden Kelly who picked up thirteen spots! Other nice runs included Austin Rich ten spots gained, and Derek Dechant ten spots gained as well!

Kyle Muncy and Gerald Walker started from the front row of the stock car feature, although quickly Chris Oliver made it three wide to gain the race lead. Tathan Burkhart got to second early, and started to run down race leader Oliver. Meanwhile Mike Petersilie and Kolby Stegman were charging to the front of the field, Oliver would lead the first thirteen laps, and on lap fourteen caution would come out for a Muncy spin in turns one and two. Oliver would lead a three wide battle off the restart between himself, Tathan Burkhart and Mike Petersilie. Caution would come out for debris late, and the field would restart again, with the same trio going three wide, however Tathan and Petersilie would come out on top and Oliver would lose several spots after contact with Petersilie. Tathan Burkhart would run away for a bit, but Petersilie made a last ditch effort coming out of turn four for the lead and spun across the finish line. Tathan Burkhart picked up his third win of the season! Second was Mike Petersilie, third was Chris Oliver, fourth was Troy Burkhart and rounding out the top five was Jeese Smith. Hard chargers in the event were Mike Petersilie and Troy Burkhart who both picked up six spots each!
