Every racer dream of winning big races or taking home a big trophy. That is what all of tonight's Thomas County Fair Race winners got to do, Kyle Mortensen, Brady Bencken, Blaine Walt, Kyle Pfeifer and Eddie Belec all took home the big trophies tonight in Colby. Fifty-four IMCA teams showed up for the fair races and put on a solid show all night with close finishes in every class.

The sport mods were the first feature race of the evening, they ran two heat races won by Blaine Walt and Adam Weber. Their fifteen-lap feature event started with a front row of Monty Nordyke and Douglas Beaman, Monty gained the early advantage and pulled away from second-running Nick Hankins until lap six where Austin Johnson stopped on the backstretch to bring out a caution. Collyer's missile Blaine Walt took the lead off of the restart and entered a close battle with Monty Nordyke. The pair duked it out until lap nine when Brady Bencken came to a stop in turn four. Blaine Walt restarted the field and pulled away by a big margin over Josh Barnhart who charged up to second place late in the feature. Blaine Walt picked up win number four of the season, his second at Thomas County after winning on May 24th. Second was Josh Barnhart, third was Monty Nordyke, fourth was Adam Weber and fifth was Brendyn Nordyke. Mortensen led the first lap, but Jared Coon tried to spoil the party and led lap two. Mortensen regained the lead lap three, meanwhile Brock Leibhart settled into second. Mortensen and Leibhart would run nose-to-tail the rest of the event, with Mortensen grabbing the race win. Kyle Mortensen grabbed his first race win of the season. Second was Brock Leibhart, third was Ted Trumbo, fourth was Jared Coon and fifth was Madison Reed. Hard chargers in the race were Ted Trumbo and Jeff Klinkefus who grabbed two spots each.
