The IMCA season wrapped up in Hays this weekend at the 15th running of the Fall Nationals, One hundred and ninety one race teams checked in, from multiple states. The classes were the cruisers, the sport compacts, sport mods, stock cars, hobby stocks and modifeds. The two day show started Friday with heat races and qualifying shows. Friday night took the top four finishers out of every class except for compacts and locked them into Saturday's main event. Everybody else were sent to last chance races on Saturday to set the remainder of the fields. They ran a ten lap feature and Schwien won that race, the sport compacts all transferred into Saturday's main event. Madison Reed drew the pole for the main event, and Schwien lined up on the outside of him to complete your front row. Schwien would jump out to an early lead, but there was early trouble as Logan Casper lost a tire, that happened to jump the catch fence and brought out a red flag, after a delay the race would resume with fifteen laps to go, Schwien would restart with the lead and started pulling away from the field again. Madison Reed was chasing Schwien and behind him Gratton Dalton, Kiowa Higdon and Gage Porter were battling in close racing. With seven laps to go Reed and Dalton would start catching Schwien, Dalton would come to a stop with five laps to go with an apparent flat tire, to bring out a caution. Dalton would return and the field would restart, Schwien pulled away early, and caution would come out with four to go as Kyle Mortenson came to a stop in turn three, meanwhile Austin Bird lost a wheel in turns one and two. The field would restart again, and a final caution would come out with two to go as Gage Porter lost a wheel in turn four.
