CRUISERS: The cruisers have been a hit all year long, as Dylan Pfeifer in his squad car has been pacing the field all year long. Shaun Woods sits second in points, in his crazy taxi machine, as he sits thirty-five points out of first place. The exciting class has shown the checkered flag to four different winners in the five race season so far for the cruisers. Dylan Pfeifer has won two events, while Shaun Woods, Troy Burkhart and Chris Lohrey all have picked up one win each. The top two in points have also finished top-five in each race so far this season. Cruisers Points SPORT COMPACTS: The four cylinder's of fury come flying into one last battle, as they aim to put on a show and make a little noise in their quest to find victory lane. This class has a blanket over the top five in points, as they all are within less than ten points of each other. A pair of young guns from Hays sit on top of the standings, as Gage Porter holds a slim three point lead over Kyle Mortensen. Behind those two sit three of the "older" guys in the class, Dave Kappel, Kiowa Higdon and Ted Trumbo. Trumbo sits eight points back, Higdon five points back and Kappel four points back. In eight races so far, the class has seen six different winners. Gratton Dalton leads the way with two wins on the season, although he has not been to the track in a great while. Gage Porter, Kiowa Higdon, Logan Casper, Connor Schwien and Toby Schwien all have one win each. The most consistent season we have seen out of the class is Gage Porter, who has finished top five in five out of the eight races, won a race, and has been in the top ten each race so far. Sport Compact Points HOBBY STOCKS: The hobby stock class features a fierce two man showdown, as Lyle Russell holds a slim four point lead, over Nicholas Ronnebaum. Russell from Ellis is trying to win the track championship at his "home" track for the first time ever, Russell also has his eyes set on winning the track championship in Dodge City at the Dodge City Raceway Park. This class has seen five different winners in the eight race season so far, Ronnebaum being the lone ranger with two wins on the season. Deric Funk, Brady Bencken, BJ Rogers, and Zach Olmstead all have picked up one win each as well. A win has not came quite yet for Lyle Russell, but he holds the points lead with his consistency. Russell has finished in the top ten every feature, and placed in the top five all but one of those features. Ronnebaum holds second place, with two wins, five top five finishes, and six top ten finishes. On the outside looking in, sits Daniel Irwin, who is thirty-five points out, he has four top ten finishes, and two top five finishes on the season. Hobby Points SPORT MODS: Tyler Watts lead an outstanding field of sport mod drivers, into RPM speedway for one final points showdown. The sport mod class has been interesting, as we have seen a dominant driver all year long, not be able to collect enough points to be on top of the leaderboard. We also have seen a lot of improvement and surprises in this class. Dighton's own Brianna Maughlin sits third in points as she has put together a consistent year, and for the most part has stayed out of trouble. Rookies Taos Leighton, and Sage Dinkel sit fifth and sixth in points, as well as Josh Barnhart sitting ninth in points. This class has featured two winners so far in 2022, Blaine Walt from Collyer, has picked up seven wins, and Jacob Olmstead, out of Nebraska was able to steal one from Walt. Watts holds a six point lead over Tony Steenson, a seven point lead over Brianna Maughlin, and a fourteen point lead over Blaine Walt. A look at Watts's season shows four top five finishes, and five top ten finishes. Tony Steenson has two top five finishes, and six top ten finishes. Brianna Maughlin has four top five finishes and six top ten finishes. Blaine Walt has seven wins on the year! Sport Mod Points STOCKS: The "too tough to tame" class has had a small but fierce group of solid drivers all year long, who have put on some jaw-dropping performances. This class has featured four different drivers visiting victory lane. Tathan Burkhart in his second season in the stock car has three wins, his dad Troy has two wins. Kyle Pfeifer, and Mike Petersilie each have one win on the season. The racing in this class has been extremely close all year long, as we have seen battles right up to the line almost every time! Tathan Burkhart holds a thirteen point lead over Troy Burkhart, and Kyle Pfeifer is thirty-eight points behind in third place. A look at Tathan's season shows three wins, and seven top five finishes. Troy Burkhart has two wins, four top five finishes and seven top ten finishes. Kyle Pfeifer has a win, six top five finishes, and seven top ten finishes. Stock Car Points MODIFIEDS: A pair of "Mullen's Mafia" drivers sit on top of the leaderboard in the modified class, as Kyle Rohleder and Clay Money have been dueling all year long. Rohleder holds a two point advantage over the "Money Man" as these two giants go toe to toe one last time in Hays for the points year. A third member of the "Mullens Mafia" sits third in points, as Jake Nightingale is nineteen points back in his Dale Earnhardt Sr. throwback machine. Six different drivers have visited victory lane, with Kyle Rohleder being most familiar with two wins on the year. Clay Money, Jake Nightingale, Tanner Black, Mike Petersilie, and Dakota Sproul have one win each. Rohleder's consistent season has featured two wins, five top five finishes, and eight top ten finishes. Clay Money's season has seen one win, seven top five finishes, and eight top ten finishes. Jake Nightingale has a win, three top five finishes, and six top ten finishes. Modified Points For more IMCA news and notes be sure to look around www.wheelinganddeal.com!
