Sixty-two race teams checked into the Dodge City Raceway Park for the Tumbleweed Classic, visiting victory lane were Dakota Bliss, Kiowa Higdon, Morgan Olmstead, Angel Munoz, Jack Kirchoff, and Brett Berry.

The cruisers started the night off where Dakota Bliss was able to beat out Raymond Blackburn in both the heat race and the feature.

The compacts were second on the program, with one eight lap heat race won by Kiowa Higdon, who would also win the feature, despite a feisty battle breaking out for second place between Kaishen Brack, Grant Logue and Kevin Tremblay. Kiowa Higdon won his first win of the 2024 season, second was Kaishen Brack, third was Grant Logue and fourth was Brent Cox.

The hobby stocks were third on the program, with three heat races won by Reagan Sellard, Dylan Bell and Morgan Olmstead. The feature saw Morgan Olmstead grab the early lead to lead the first couple of laps despite a couple early cautions. The racing was great for second through tenth place as the field saw numerous three and four wide battles. The field finally settled into a green flag stretch after lap three and Morgan Olmstead was able to run away for the race win, his fifth IMCA win of the season. Second was Tyler Heath, third was Dylan Bell, fourth was Reagan Sellard and fifth was Hayden Ogorzolka. Hard charger in the event was Ogorzolka who grabbed eight spots, Tyler Heath was able to gain six spots.

The stock cars were fourth on the program, Chris Oliver won the heat race. Oliver led the field early in the feature but quickly was pressured from Kolby Stegman and Angel Munoz. After a couple of laps Eric Munoz settled into fourth place and started closing in on the lead trio. An early caution would bring the field back up to Chris Oliver as he would restart the field after three laps completed. A three wide battle would break out on the restart with Oliver leading lap four. Lap five saw Angel try the top shelf to get by Oliver but the duo remained side-by-side. Angel Munoz would get to the lead lap six and Stegman would get by for second place. Angel Munoz would run away in the final laps to easily win the feature event, his second win of the 2024 season. Second was Kolby Stegman, third was Eric Munoz, fourth was Chris Oliver and fifth was Keith Stegman. Hard charger was Angel Munoz who grabbed three spots.

The sport mods were fifth on the program as they ran three heat races won by Jack Kirchoff, Luke Stallbaumer and Brian May. The front row of the twenty-lap feature event was Shawn Ward and Dalton Bell, the initial start was waved off as Brian Kreger slowed. A four wide battle would break out right away but Dalton Bell would scoot away with the race lead. Jack Kirchoff and Brianna Maughlin would start moving to the front of the pack. At the halfway point Bell still led with Kirchoff and Maughlin closing in as the leaders entered lapped traffic. Brianna Maughlin would battle side-by-side with Jack Kirchoff for the second place, and that allowed Brian May to bring his car back into the picture. One lap later May would throw a slider in turns three and four to grab the third spot. The final three laps saw Dalton Bell and Jack Kirchoff battle closely with Jack Kirchoff grabbing the lead as the white flag waved. Jack Kirchoff won for the first time in 2024. Second was Dalton Bell, third was Ryan Kirchoff, fourth was Brian May and fifth was Brianna Maughlin. Hard charger was Ryan Kirchoff who gained four spots. Other nice runs included Steven Swarthout, Tim Stallbaumer and Newt Lujan gaining three spots each. Race winner Jack Kirchoff gained two spots en route to his win.

The modifieds closed out the program with two heat races dominated by Clay Sellard and Brett Berry. Their feature event started with a front row of Clay Sellard and Derrick Sprott, quickly Sellard grabbed the lead and Jake Nightingale got to second, Brett Berry got to third. Lap two saw Nightingale and Sellard run closely with Sellard holding the narrow advantage. Lap five saw Nightingale smack Sellard in the left rear corner and that allowed Brett Berry to close in but the trio would single file back out. At the halfway point Sellard still held a narrow lead over Nightingale as the leaders entered lapped traffic. A three wide battle would break out on lap thirteen as Brett Berry would use a lapped car to go from third to first in one corner. The final five laps saw Brett Berry use his newly found clean air to pull away from the field to pick up the race win. Berry picked up his fourth win of the season, after winning last night in Salina. Second was Clay Sellard, third was Jake Nightingale, fourth was Danny Keller and fifth was Casey Jo Gemmill. Hard charger in the event was Brett Berry who gained seven spots, other nice runs included Dalton Murphy up four spots, and John Burrow and Jake Nightingale grabbing three spots each.
