Sixty-five race teams and drivers made their way into Goodland, Kansas for a night of weekly racing. The five IMCA classes plus an econos class put on a show for the race fans. The econo class started the night out, they ran one six lap heat race, Nathan Armbruster won after starting third. Krista Pummer, went from fifth to third in the heat. The ten lap feature started with Krista Pummer on the pole, but quickly Nathan Armbruster grabbed the lead, and ran away with the show, claiming a fifth win on the season. Richard Pummer finished second, and third went to Steve Smith. Nathan Armbruster swept the weekend. The hard charger of the feature was, Armbruster who went from third to first. The sport mods were second on the program. They ran two six lap heat races, Brett Berry won the first one after starting fifth. The second one went to Luke Stallbaumer won after starting second. The fifteen lap feature started with Gordon French and Luke Stallbaumer on the front row. Stallbaumer grabbed the early lead, and on lap three Jasen Gray, Brianna Maughlin, and Gordon French were all involved in an incident to bring out the yellow. The racing resumed and Stallbaumer continued to lead, and on lap five John Fabrizus slowed to a stop and brought out a yellow. The race would resume and would run incident free to the finish. Brett Berry and Tony Acierno would make attempts to challenge for the lead, but there was no stopping Luke Stallbaumer as he picked up his first win at Sherman County for the year, and his fourth win overall on the season. The hard charger on the evening was Brett Berry who went from eighth to second on the night. The sport compacts were third on the program, they ran one six lap heat race which featured Madison Reed winning after starting fifth. Their ten lap feature started with a front row of Melissa Johnson and Zach Cardwell. Madison Reed got off to a great start and grabbed an early lead. Reed controlled the race, there was a caution as the leaders saw the white flag, as Zach Cardwell spun in turns three and four. The race resumed and Madison Reed picked up the victory. Second went to Gage Porter and third went to Ted Trumbo. The victory was Reed's fourth of the year at Goodland, and ninth on the year overall. The hard charger of the race was Reed who went from fifth to first on the evening. Fourth on the program were the stock cars, who ran two eight lap heat races. The first heat race went to Ondre Rexford who started fourth, the second one went to Wheat Lippelman who started sixth. The eighteen lap feature started with Nick Link and Anthony Rhoades on the front row, Jeff Tubbs found the lead, and was able to grab the win over Tyler Tipton and Dominic Ursetta. It was victory number four for Tubbs at Goodland on the year, and his sixth win of the year overall. The racing was exciting the whole time, and it was cool to see modified drivers, hop in stocks and put on a good show. The hard charger on the night was Jeff Tubbs who went from tenth to the win. Jeff Tubbs also swept the weekend at Goodland. Fifth on the program were the hobby stocks who ran two eight lap heat races, the first one saw Charlie Cook win after starting fifth, and the second one saw Josh Barnhart win after starting third. The eighteen lap feature lined Emmanuel Young and Ray West on the front row. There was an early incident on the initial start that involved Young and Levi Jones. Josh Barnhart grabbed an early lead, and held that lead for the entire race, a caution did occur on lap ten when Isaiah Shinette was up against the wall at the entrance of turn three. Barnhart won, holding off second place Charlie Cook, and third place went to Hunter Smith. The hard charger on the night was Alex West who went from fifteenth to finish seventh on the night. Josh Barnhart's win was number two on the season, he swept the weekend at Goodland. Lastly but not least on the program were the modifieds, who ran two six lap heat races, the first one went to Jeff Hunter who had started fifth and the second one went to Eddie Belec who started second. The fifteen lap feature lined up with a front row of Jason Haug and Lane Linthacum. Eddie Belec grabbed a lead and never looked back, holding off a charging Kyle Rohleder to win the feature. Belec won, Rohleder second and third went to Matt Morris. The win was number three on the year for Eddie Belec, his second of the year at Goodland. Belec swept the weekend at Goodland as well. The hard chargers on the night were Matt Morris and Jeff Hunter who both picked up five spots each. Goodland's next race is August 21st which is Championship Night. Hot laps start at 4pm mountain time with racing scheduled to start at 5pm mountain time.
